Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. The Corcoran Group, an NYC real estate brokerage was established by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran later left the company. Corcoran was one of the original Shark Tank investors. She was a regular on every episode of ABC's Shark Tank. As of February 2020, she has made 53 deals for the show, the largest being a $350,000 investment to purchase 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the second of 10 children in a middle class Irish-Catholic family. Florence Corcoran's mother was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father, was a multi-talented employee throughout Corcoran's early years. Sometimes, the family relied on the delivery of food for free from a local grocery store. Corcoran remembers her father as one who sometimes was a drinker and was rude to her mother and sneer, especially when he'd been drinking. Corcoran was a troubled pupil throughout her schooling. Corcoran later found out that she had dyslexia. Corcoran started high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after having attended an Catholic primary school. Corcoran was a failure in several courses in her freshman year, transferred to Leonia High School. There, she received a D.
